The Congregational Institute for Practical Theology is a key part of the Congregational Federation. We deliver a Foundation Degree in Practical Theology, which is validated by York St John University, as well as a series of local and national courses which help to equip local churches and individuals for service within church settings and beyond. All of our courses are taught with a non-conformist Congregational perspective.

The University Certificate, worth 40 Level 7 credits, recognises the importance and complexity of the chaplaincy role and further professionalises it. On successful completion of the UWTSD University Certificate in Professional Chaplaincy (Policing), there is an opportunity for Chaplains to ‘top-up’ this award by studying a further 20 credit module to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Chaplaincy.
