Support for Free Church Chaplains

As well as engaging at a national level, as Secretary for Healthcare Chaplain, Mark Newitt works to equip and engage FCG chaplains to provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based and patient centred chaplaincy care.

This is done in a number of ways, including:

  • A monthly email digest of information – The Narrative

  • Provision of rolling pattern of Monthly CPD sessions providing opportunity for reflective practice, reflecting on a research article in a journal club and teaching input

  • Support through selection processes, for example advice with applications, providing a practice interview. (Please contact Mark Newitt – mark.newitt@freechurches.org.uk – if you would like help)

Mark is supported in his work by a steering committee which provides a place for ideas, lively discussion and support. The steering committee also works as a place for the growth and development of chaplains by giving them an opportunity to learn about national issues and to help shape the training and development that is offered to FCG chaplains. If you would be interested in serving on the committee please contact Mark Newitt: mark.newitt@freechurches.org.uk
