Sarah Lane Cawte, Education Officer

  • Following my visit to the House of Commons Education Committee on 17 June, the Church Times published an article about Religious Education and the Curriculum and Assessment Review currently taking place in England.

  • I was pleased to meet with researchers from CYM and Youthscape on 14 July, to plan a follow-up event to the successful Investing Together day, held in Birmingham on 14 May. This event will take church leaders, researchers and children’s and youth specialists deeper into a conversation about involving children, young people and families more fully in the life of the church, and will take place online on Thursday 11 September. If you are interested in receiving an invitation, please get in touch.

  • CHELG (the Churches’ Higher Education Liaison Group), the ecumenical group that supports Christian chaplains in Higher Education, met on 14 May, and spent time planning both the training for new chaplains, which takes place in November, and the annual conference for chaplains, which takes place in January. More details of the conference will be available next month.
