Join us as we pray for our schools... on 16th July

Free Churches Group are an active prayer partner in the work and mission of Pray for Schools, along with many other groups who have a heart for prayer and love our schools.

It has been amazing and such an encouragement to all to be able to pray alongside Christians from across England and Wales, at Zoom gatherings, during the last few months.

We have had an excellent range of contributors who have been able to share news about our schools and support us in what needs our prayers and care. This has helped to guide our prayers during the meeting and make these shared times very powerful in both prayer and fellowship. At our next prayer, we are delighted to say we will be joined and guided in prayer by staff from Scripture Union and Association of Christian Teachers.

On 16th July, we will be gathering once more between 12.30 - 1.15 P.M. and all are welcome. It is open to all, but booking is required.

All over the UK, groups of parents, teachers or schools workers meet on a regular basis to pray for their local schools. Join us for one of our online events as we gather together in prayer for our schools.

Public Panel Discussion: "No Child Left Behind: Digital Poverty & Roma Child Poverty" on 2nd June

As part of a British Council some years ago, I was privileged to be able to work alongside teachers working with Roma families and saw the life changing work being done by Christian groups with other agencies, to ensure equality of access to education. The work I undertook was in UK, Spain and Romania, as part of a Grundtvig project (Sara Iles, FCG media support officer).

This Europe-wide panel discussion, coming up next week, will highlight some of the key issues facing Roma children today with regards to lack of access to digital and other technologies which are used in educational delivery (event on 2nd June starting at 9am UK time, 10am Europe time)

Moving Forward in Hope - recording of webinar - Theos report: university Chaplaincy during the pandemic

On 26th April, we hosted webinar entitled “Moving forward in Hope”. This was on the subject of the recently published Theos report and research conducted by Simon Perfect, about HE chaplaincy during the Pandemic; the full title of the report is: “Relationships, Presence and Hope: University Chaplaincy during the COVID-19 Pandemic”. You can read a copy of the Theos report HERE.

Simon kindly agreed to talk to us about his research at the webinar in April and participants had the opportunity to talk with others about how the experience of chaplaincy during the Pandemic might have taught us things that can strengthen chaplaincy in the future.

You can watch a recording of the event and find out more about the report HERE.
