Type: Part-time 15 hours per week fixed term contract 1st Aug 2025 – 31st June 2028

Salary: £28,500 FTE (full time = 37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview: The Membership Secretary and Communications Officer will play a key role in managing member relations and supporting the growth and engagement of the organisation's community. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organised, self-motivated and creative individual who thrives in both administrative and communications-focused tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Administration

● Maintain and update the membership database with accurate and up-to-date records

● Ensure regular communication is made with all member projects

● Ensure annual subscription invoices are raised and payments followed up

● Serve as the first point of contact for existing member inquiries, providing timely and helpful responses

● Support the Growth and Development officer with the onboarding of new members.

● Prepare regular membership reports and statistics for the trustees.

Communications

● Develop and deliver engaging internal communications, including member newsletters, email campaigns, and announcements liaising with the Growth and Development officer

● Manage and update the organisation’s website and social media channels

● Create content for various platforms, ensuring tone and messaging align with the organisation’s brand

● Assist with the creation of promotional materials and press releases

● Coordinate the design and distribution of event communications (e.g., AGM, member meetings)

Events and Community Engagement

● Support planning and execution of member events both in person and online eg, webinars, and zoom meetings

● Promote events and initiatives through communication channels

● Assist in gathering feedback from members to improve engagement and satisfaction

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Strong organisational and administrative abilities

● Excellent IT skills

● Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and website CMS (eg Google Drive, Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor, Facebook and LinkedIn)

● Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

● A collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal skills

● In agreement with the CCA multi-faith Statement of Faith

● Self motivated

Desirable:

● Experience working in a nonprofit, association, or membership-based organisation

● Knowledge of the criminal justice system

● Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)

● Knowledge of fundraising or donor engagement strategies (a bonus)
